2013 READING LIST

Hi ladies,

Here is the final list of our book selections for 2013. I am so excited to read many of these books! It's going to be a great year.

Hosts are in charge of sending out the reminder email as well as providing (or delegating) discussion questions. I know first hand how amazing everyone is at volunteering to help out and bring food so please do not hesitate to ask. I am always willing to help out as well! No pressure for food. We just love getting together.

Any questions let me know. I want to thank everyone for being so kind and helping with our December book club. It was a lot of fun and I really appreciate all of the yummy treats you brought to share. I feel very lucky to have such a great group of friends to hang out with and discuss books with every month. Thank you thank you!

Leslie

December White Elephant Book Exchange PARTY!

Hi book club ladies!

On December 6, 2012 at 7:30 I will be hosting the Christmas Book Club gift exchange at my house. Everyone is to bring a book WRAPPED for a white elephant style gift exchange. It can be any book you have laying around in your home or one you found at the thrift store. I would say even a cookbook, novel, anything!

I will be providing a hot chocolate bar along with some monkey bread. Janet, Christen, and Diane have all volunteered to bring some refreshments as well. If you would love to bring something you can! But no need to worry if you cannot.

WE WILL BE DISCUSSING OUR BOOK CLUB SELECTIONS FOR THE YEAR SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BRING YOUR SUGGESTIONS! We would love to have some suggested books that you are passionate about and love. The book club selections have been sort of thrown together in recent months so I think it is time to really find some great books that will liven up our discussions.

I look forward to having you all in my home! I hope you can all make it. Even come late if you can!

September Book Club

Hi all,

So so sorry for this late update. September showed up so quickly! The book we are reading this month is Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz.

I think I may be out of town for book club. The fourth Thursday is the 27th. But, of course it still is planned. I suggested Cafe Zupa's as a meeting place but if anyone else has another suggestion I'm open. Book club is at 7:30. Let me know if you all would like to meet somewhere else. I will post a reminder a few days before.

Thanks,

Leslie

June Book Club

Hello Ladies! Jordan has graciously decided to host book club this month. Thank you Jordan!! Here is the email she sent out. She is hosting in her home at 7:30 PM on June 28th. Hello lovely ladies, I will be hosting book club at my home on June 28. I thought we could try a classic and recommend "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. There are several copies available at the library and it should also be easily accessible on a digital reader. Get started on your book soon so we can have a great discussion of this classic novel. Thanks! Jordan

May Book Club Information

(Weird highlighting due to copying and pasting from my email. I am too lazy to change it, sorry!)

Hi Book Club ladies!

So after discussing things with my husband I decided NOT to have book club in my home. We are leaving town shortly afterward and have a million and one things to do. BUT, we are still doing book club. I just thought we could meet at Gelato Spot to take the pressure off (mostly of me.)

We are discussing The Thirteenth Tale by Diana Setterfield on May 24th at 7:30 pm. Gelato Spot is located at 40th street and greenway next to Starbucks.

Hope to see you all there!

March Book Club - YumBeri Yogurt

Hi Everyone!

It was so nice to see many new faces at last months book club. We thoroughly enjoyed discussing the biography on Steve Jobs. Thank you, Cerise, for hosting in your home. It was wonderful!

This month we are meeting March 22, 2012 at Yumberi yogurt. We will meet at 7:30 p.m. It should be nice enough to sit outside. Cerise has recommended Born on Blue Day by Daniel Tammet.

I am hoping at this book club that we may talk about who will host next and what books we will be reading. So be thinking of suggestions! Keep in mind that when you host you get to pick the book AND THE PLACE. So it doesn't always have to be in your home! :)

Can anyone volunteer to do questions? Since this is a memoir, I assume Author Bio won't be needed.

Let me know.

Leslie
